OTHER BURMA (MYANMAR) OFFERINGS:
We are constantly researching new areas
to offer to our seasoned travelers in an effort to experience
their pristine culture and environment before it is overrun.
We can arrange private hiking trips throughout Burma including
Burmese Nagaland to meet former headhunters. We were amongst the
first Westerners to celebrate the Naga New Year Festival attended
by over 700 Nagas, some of whom walked almost 12 days from as far
as the India border. We traveled by air, boat and army trucks through
dense forests to mountaintop villages and stayed in makeshift
dorms. We woke to the sound of drummers and animal sacrifices! out log instruments.
Private trips can be arranged to remote Khumi, Khami and
Laytu Chin villages in the mountains along western Burma
to see the spider web tattooed women and the 15th century
ruins at Mrauk U, the last capital of the Rakhine Kingdom.
To Pa O tribal villages around Inle Lake and to the recently
opened Buddhist pagoda complex at Kakku and the Padaung
villages of the famous "Long Neck" tribe with
their complex social hierarchies and customs.
