WHO WE ARE
Asian Pacific Adventures was founded in 1986 by photographer, art educator and sinologist Tovya Wager, whose fluency in Mandarin and fascination for China's minority cultures gave birth to the company. Hima Singh, the owner, was born in Nepal, educated in India, Europe and the United States, and belongs to the royal families of both India and Nepal.
In the 80’s we pioneered ethnic minority study trips in China for UCLA, and are arranging Mandarin Immersion study trips for Forest Hills Public Schools on a regular basis. We have also arranged Mongolia to Siberia expeditions for historian Sandy Lydon, Bhutan Festivals for Principia College, and All Asia photo shoots for Outdoor Photographer Magazine, to name a few. We pioneered tribal and festival tours in Burma, India, China, Vietnam and Iran.
We continue to promote global peace and understanding through travel. APA clients benefit from our excellent track record and over 40 years of global experience in the travel industry, a wide network of overseas partners, family connections, and insider's knowledge of Asia. We are primarily a referral based company.
WHY TRAVEL WITH US
Asian Pacific Adventures is known as a pioneer of cultural travel in Asia. We take our clients on exploratory trips to the remote corners of Asia where you can exchange views with an Iranian scholar, relax in the home studio of a Balinese artist, enjoy a fascinating photo and festival safari through Japan and stay in private homes in Nepal, India and Japan. Our clients gain invaluable insights into ancient, complex cultures often unknown and inaccessible to westerners. Whether on a group departure or a customized individual tour, our clients experience Asia in a way that is both enlightening and enriching.
Passenger safety, health and comfort are our first concern. This combined with personalized service and well-researched & designed itineraries provides APA clients with world-class travel experiences. Almost 70% of our business is from repeat clients and referrals – proof of our staff’s dedication to our clients’ satisfaction. Client references are available on request.
We travel responsibly and believe in cultural and environmental preservation. We also believe that smaller groups provide a better travel experience for our clients. Our small groups, sometimes limited to as few as 6 people, are designed to make the least impact.
