Visit timeless Lhasa with its monasteries and the 1,000-room Potala Palace. The most poignant areas are the roof terraces housing the Dalai Lama's residences, the large courtyard, and the spectacular multi-storied interior atriums that extend upwards to the roof terraces. The summer palace of the Dalai Lama is a large complex of small palaces and chapels within a walled garden. Visit the Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar the religious and geographical centers of Lhasa. From morning to night, there is an astounding display of chanting and prostrating pilgrims circumambulating the Temple.
